Our Belizean youths have become actively engaged in clean-up efforts across the Country. Both Oceana and the Scouts Association of Belize held their 7th Annual “National River and Beach Clean-up Campaign’ on Saturday morning of this past weekend.  Members of the Belize Police Youth Cadet Corp were also invited to participate in this National clean-up.

Coordinators of the various events handed out gloves and garbage bags early Saturday to the enthusiastic young people. It was a day well spent as our young people learned to appreciate a clean environment; especially on our important watersheds.

According to Corporal Jason Jones, who heads the Community Policing initiative in San Ignacio Town, “we had cadets from San Ignacio, Bullet Tree, and Georgeville who along with the Jaguar Scouts of San Ignacio cleaned along the banks of the Macal River.”
