Two men are now in custody, charged for the same crime in Belmopan. Police in the Nation’s capital have arrested and charged 26 year old vendor Ronald Bradley and 22 year old Kareem Hoare, both from Mahogany Heights, for the crime of robbery. Both men have been remanded until November 27, 2017.

Chinese businessman and manager of the Wei Li Store from the Maya Mopan area in Belmopan had reported that a pair of men had entered his store on September 27th. One of the robbers took out a firearm and demanded cash. In response and fearing for his life, Wei Kuang handed over cash and an iPhone.

Belmopan police now report that the iPhone, valued at $500.00, which was stolen during the robbery has been recovered.

Given the bold nature of these crimes against Chinese and other Belizeans, a group of concerned citizens marched the streets in San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town on Sunday. A majority of the Chinese stores were also closed on Sunday in the Cayo area in response to their concern on crime.
