Oscar Cordon a 62 year old taximan from Belmopan reported to police that he was at the Belmopan bus terminal on Wednesday morning when he was approached by 3 Hispanic men who asked him to take them on a trip. He refused but was forced into his vehicle and later thrown into the trunk of his car and driven to an area near Buena Vista in the Cayo district. There he taken out, tied up and in the process shot on the left hand and left there.

The assailants then took the car and went to Scotia bank in Spanish Lookout where they held up the assistant manager and made off with an undetermined amount of money. One of the men was armed with what appeared to be a shotgun and the other two men had pistols. They all had on masks. Cordon’s car was found by the Buena vista junction.

In a statement from the bank it said no one was injured during the robbery.
