On October 13, 2017, police visited Sun Luck Store located on Zericote Street in Orange Walk where they spoke to Hong Zhen Quin, a 24-year-old Chinese cashier, who reported that at 3:15 p.m., 2 male persons of Hispanic descent entered the shop. They were both dressed in full black clothing with caps on their heads and white rags covering their faces. One of the culprits was armed with what appeared to be a 9 mm pistol which he pointed to Zhen Quin. The robbers stole $600.

On the following date, police visited Mini Super Harvies shop located in Carmelita Village where Yulisa Villamil, a 37-year-old self-employed Belizean, reported that sometime around 8:15 p.m., two men of dark complexion and dressed in dark clothing and face coverings entered the shop. One of the men was armed with what appeared to be a handgun. One of the men took two cell phones and $150 cash from the persons inside the store meanwhile the other man stole an Andrea brand purse containing $485.00, 1000 Mexican pesos and 5 cell phones all to a total value of $3,435 aside from the 1000 Mexican pesos. After robbing the owner and the customers from the shop, the men made good their escape in a white SUV. Police are investigating these cases.
