On Tuesday, October 24, police received information of a shooting incident and visited #96 New Road where they saw Judith Rocke, 60-years-old, suffering from a gunshot wound to the right forearm. Her 7-year-old granddaughter, Malli Herrera, was also seen with gunshot injuries to the lower back and abdomen.

They were both rushed to the KHMH. While Rocke has since been discharged, Herrera remains hospitalized and is listed in a critical but stable condition at the Pediatric Ward.

Acording to Rocke, she was inside her house along with three of her grandchildren when she heard several gunshots being fired at her house. She tried to take the children into a room away from the bullets but as she did she and Malli were hit. She told the media that the shooting is likely directed at one of her sons who does not live with her but visits her home regularly. She admits that he has his own troubles but added that, “If they have something with my son deal with my son he is the one who put himself in that situation. If they have something with my son deal with him don’t go out there and hurt innocent people.”
