Crime numbers in localized areas of the Cayo District continues to fall. Officer in Charge of San Ignacio Police formation Richard Rosado reports that for the period January to September 2017 when compare to the same period in 2016, his jurisdiction saw a reduction of major crimes by 14.7%.

“This feat was accomplished through the support from the community and the community leaders,” Superintendent Rosado reports.

“To all the volunteer special constables thank you, to the People’s Coalition Committee and the neighborhood watch groups and their leaders, thank you.”

To all the police officers from the San Ignacio Police Formation, thank you for all the hard work and tenacity you have displayed in solving and preventing crimes,”

Any reduction in crime can be achieved with a team effort.

He also writes, “Together we can continue to reduce crimes within our jurisdiction. Thanks and a God bless.”

To keep the momentum going for a further reduction in crime, San Ignacio Police have gone on an approach to conquer hearts and minds. For the month of October 2017, O.C. Anthony Richard Rosado and Deputy Assistant Superintendent of Police Daniel Iche conducted a meet-and-greet in the Twin Towns.  Rosado focused in the Kontiki Area whilst ASP. Iche focused on the center of Santa Elena Town, where a total of 46 families were visited.
