Since their brazen day-light robbery of a Pawn Shop in Belmopan on Thursday of last week, Belmopan Police have been in hot pursuit of three people.  Their work has paid off as Ryan Rhaburn, 20-year-old Belizean pawn broker, who resides at number 87 Amara Avenue in Belize City was charged on Saturday with abetment to commit robbery. Henry Sosa, a 22- year-old of 29 Iguana Street in Belize City was charged with two counts of robbery and one count of handing stolen goods. Sosa was also charged jointly with Shada Davis, 21 year old from 29 Iguana Street with handling stolen goods.

This follows a robbery at about nine-thirty last Thursday at the First Stop Pawn Shop on Constitution Drive in Belmopan where its manager, 24 year old Alexia Neal, was held up at gun point by two men. The gunman instructed that Neal open the bar gate after which $59,500 was stolen along with a variety of jewelry.

Police reported on Saturday that in regards to the robbery at First Choice Pawn Shop, approximately 95% of the jewelry has been recovered. All officers engaged in the special operation will be awarded at a date to be announced later.

But this is not the end of the unfolding events in the Belmopan jurisdiction. Last week, the owner of the Mall located on the Hummingbird Highway also reported that their business was broken into and around $5000.00 was stolen. In another victory against crime, Belmopan Police now reports that the suspect is now in custody and a portion of the money has been recovered.
