St. Joseph girls and St. Martin De Porres boys to represent Belize District in National Primary Schools Basketball competition Print E-mail

The Belize District Primary Schools Basketball competition came to an end on Monday 30th October with the district finals played at Swift Hall in Belize City.

In the first game played in the girls’ division, Belize Rural Primary School defeated Central Christian School by the score of 8-0. The top scorers for Belize Rural Primary School were Joan Kelly and Nadine Humble with 4 points each.

In the second game, St. Joseph School defeated San Pedro RC School by the score of 18-0. The top scorer for St. Joseph School was Briah Clarke with 18 points.

In the girls’ championship game, St. Joseph School defeated Belize Rural Primary School by the score of 14-6. The top scorer for St. Joseph School was Briah Clarke with 12 points while the top scorers for Belize Rural Primary School were Nadine Humble, Kiara McFadzean and Joan Kelly with 2 points each.

In the first game in the boys’ competition, St. Ignatius School defeated Holy Cross Anglican School by the score of 18-3. The top scorer for St. Ignatius School was Kyle Castillo with 12 points while the top scorer for Holy Cross Anglican School was Jonathan Miranda with 3 points.

In the second game of the boys’ competition, St. Martin De Porres School defeated Belize Rural Primary School by the score of 43-19. The top scorer for St. Martin De Porres School was Tarique Solis with 16 points while the top scorer for Belize Rural Primary School was Lebron Broaster with 9 points.

In the boys’ championship game, St. Martin De Porres School defeated St. Ignatius School by the score of 40-34. The top scorer for St. Martin De Porres School was Tarique Solis with 18 points while the top scorer for St. Ignatius School was Kyle Castillo with 19 points.

St. Joseph Primary School girls and St. Martin De Porres boys’ will represent the Belize District at the National Primary Schools Basketball championship scheduled for Friday 3rd November at the SJC Gym.
