Our subject this week is “Connected to God our Heavenly Father.”

In Hebrews chapter 4, verses 9 and 10, we read: “So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.”

Rest in His Presence. Rest in His Power. Rest in His Word. Rest in His Promises.

Until we rest from our assumptions of what God wants from us, He cannot tell us what He truly has for us. It is important to discuss everything we want to do with our Creator. Even how we should pray about issues must come from Him. That’s because He has plans for us, which our wrong prayers will interfere with.

It is in our time of rest that we are able to hear from God. Some people never rest during the day, so the only way God can get through them, is by giving them dreams at night. This makes it very important for us to ask for and exercise the gift of discernment regarding our dreams.

Discernment is the ability to tell the difference between two things spiritually even though they look the same physically.

Let’s make a conscious effort to connect with God today, by seeking to know what He wants and doing it, whilst believing He has given us the grace and power to do it.
