The San Ignacio Police formation through its Community Policing and Community Oriented Policing program continues to comply with its action plan.  As a portion of the action plan, the formation continues with the Gang Resistance Education and Training Program-GREAT with the schools under its area of influence; as well as schools that have not had the opportunity to participate.

Ciriaco Medina, team leader of the GREAT Program in San Ignacio now reports to us that for School year 2017-2018, a total of 22 primary schools have participated where the Middle school curriculum has been integrated.  A grand total of 656 primary school students are benefiting from this program. (As of last week some police officers are on lesson 6, some are on lesson 4 and one is just starting lesson 1.)

Medina would like  to give thanks to the Officer in Charge of the San Ignacio Police Formation, Richard Rosado, O.C.Community Policing HQ, and O.C. COPP for their gallant efforts in bringing GREAT to a fruition.  He would also like to give special thanks to the GREAT instructors WPC 2056 Astrid Trapp, WPC 2112 Jennifer Reynolds, PC1994 Leonard Benjamin, PC2062 Henry Lemus, PC2084 Erick Mendez and PC.1866 Durman Dawson, and substituent WPC 2133 Danelle Valerio.
