A 24-year-old Belize City mason, Kaleem Chun, is on remand at the Belize Central Prison after being accused of committing an armed robbery at Arwing Grocery shop located on Santa Barbara Street in Belize City. Chun was arraigned on November 3, 2017 on a single charge of robbery.

The allegations against Chun are that on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, he stole $1,500 cash from Wei Yei Yang, a Chinese grocer, while armed with a firearm.

Chun appeared unrepresented before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford where he pleaded not guilty to the charge but due to the nature of the offense, he was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until December 27, 2017.

Shortly after his arraignment, Chun sought legal advice from attorney Oscar Selgado who is preparing his documents to have his bail application heard by November 10, 2017.
