The collection of Psalms in the Bible is full of inspired advice. For example, the first part of Psalm 103 reads, “Bless the Lord God Yahweh, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies.

We are truly in the last of the last days, because the world is filled with rumors of wars, and wickedness in high places. The devil’s desire is to depopulate God’s heaven, to fill his kingdom. He is doing it through the media, spreading so much bad news so that the souls of men and women will be vexed with fear and sorrow.

The good news for believers is that we serve a God who saw all these things ahead of time, and made provision for us. It is time to turn away from the bad news, and fix our eyes on the good news of the word, so we can be a source of hope to the world.

As we go about our day, let us remember our fellow believers who are persecuted for the sake of their faith, and those who were killed in the Baptist Church in Texas. Let us pray for each other’s protection so that our testimony will be a blessing for the entire world to see.

The Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, during his televised comments on the tragedy, asked that we should pray for the families of the 26 persons killed, and the 20 persons injured. He added that parents should hug their children, and tell them they love them. He also said that we should do the same to our friends, neighbors, and people in our communities.

The Governor’s “politically incorrect” remarks were carried live on CNN, Fox, MSNBC, and the US national networks. The Governor
