A convicted child molester, 40-year-old John Francisco Leslie, who was found guilty of committing a sexual assault upon a 5-year-old girl back in November of 2016, was slapped with another sexual offense alleged to have occurred upon an 11-year-old child.

The allegations are that in July 2016, Leslie had sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 16. According to the child, Leslie took her to a home in Lord’s Bank Village where he had sexual intercourse with her. The matter has been under investigation since 2016 prior to Leslie’s first conviction.

On November 24, 2016, Leslie was convicted of one count of sexual assault upon a 5-year-old girl. That conviction took place before the then Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith. He was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.

The 5 year old child testified that in April 2016, Leslie took her into a room at a house and placed his private parts into her mouth then put his hand into her underwear and touched her inappropriately.

On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, Leslie, who was incarcerated and already serving a five year sentence, was brought down from the Belize Central Prison to be read a single count of unlawful sexual intercourse upon the 11-year-old child.

Leslie appeared before Magistrate Michelle Trapp where he was read the charge. Due to the nature of the offense, no plea was taken from him since the matter is being dealt with on indictment.

Magistrate Trapp explained to him that she also cannot grant him bail on the matter at this time but since he was serving time, Leslie was further remanded back to prison and is due back in court on January 16, 2018.
