With the Christmas season quickly approaching, the Belize City Council took to their second year of their version of “12 Days of Christmas”. Their 12 Days of Charity started on Friday, December 1, 2017 with a Calypso Train city tour for the elders of the Sister Cecilia Home.

The tour was guided by Mayor Darrel Bradley himself and began at 10:30 a.m. A lunch with entertainment at the BTL Park followed the tour which was sponsored by the Office of the Mayor. At that lunch, Mayor Bradley and the Belize City Councilors shared a meal with the older people

The idea of the initiative is that each department of the City Council will execute a charitable act with employees funding it themselves. Mayor Bradley expressed that the purpose of the 12 Days of Charity is for the Council to promote and share acts of kindness with the community by executing works over a span of 12 work days. Some of these include schools visit, minor house refurbishments, and sanitation projects.
