Antonio Novelo, a 38-year-old ex-sales clerk of Augusto Quan, was fired from his job on Monday, December 4, 2017 after he was caught red-handed stealing from his workplace.

On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, he appeared unrepresented before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court where he was read a single charge of theft. Novelo pled guilty to the charge and was fined $500 plus a $5.00 cost of court which he was ordered to pay by January 15, 2018 in default of 5 months’ imprisonment.

Novelo was caught stealing a screwdriver and a 2-way TV splitter, all to a value of $4.50.
