Alex Lewis, a 28-year-old laborer and resident of Hattieville, was taken before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 to answer to a single charge of drug trafficking. The convicted drug peddler pleaded not guilty to the charge and was offered bail in the sum of $2,000 plus one surety of the same.

Lewis’ court records show that he was in debt to the court for an undisclosed amount of money. He has two drug trafficking charges before the court, one in 2006 and another in 2014 where he was fined.

According to police, Lewis was seen throwing a plastic bag through the door of his house. Seeing this suspicious move, the police intercepted the bag which was found not too far away. They took Lewis to the area where the bag was seen and it was opened in Lewis’s presence. Inside, some green leafy substance suspected to be cannabis was found, weighing to a total of 100.2 grams.
