In Ephesians 1:18, the Apostle Paul wrote: I pray that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened, so that you may know the hope to which He has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.

When we pray, something unique is supposed to happen to give us the assurance that we have been heard, and our answer is on the way. Without these two things our prayers become vain repetitions. When Jesus told the story of the wicked judge, He was not doing a comparison with God, but rather a character opposite to God.

The connection between praying and receiving has to do with our spiritual senses. For every physical sense we have a spiritual equivalent. So we have spiritual sight, smell hearing, taste and touch. They all work together to make spiritual things real to us just as our physical senses do the same. Our soul is the gateway to spirit being. So if our mind refuses to accept what God is saying, it stops the process of seeing the answer in our spirit before it comes and nullifies our prayer. But when our mind is peaceful and focused on the word of God, then He is easily able to show us things in our imagination, which becomes the plan for what is to come.

Focus your mind on God’s answer in the Word, so it creates a picture in your spirit.
