A barber is lucky to be home free of a serious charge that could have landed him in jail and facing prison time. That man is 28-year-old Sidney Belizaire, a barber of a Ladyville address. Belizaire was accused of executing a robbery at gun point at a well-known night club in the Ladyville area located on the Phillip Goldson Highway.

The allegations against Belizaire are that on Saturday, January 28, 2018 at the Eruption Night Club, he demanded $350 from the establishment owned by Merna Portillo. The reports say that he paid for a service and was dissatisfied and as a result, he demanded the money which he had paid.

On Monday, January 29, 2018, Belizaire appeared before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford where he was read a single charge of robbery with a firearm, a charge to which he pleaded guilty. The complainant, Portillo, was in court and requested no further court action against Belizaire.

As a result, Magistrate Ford withdrew the charges and Belizaire was free to go. While he is free of that charge, it is learned that Belizaire stands to lose his firearm license for his careless action.
