The body of a Hispanic man was found around 3:00 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018 in Dangriga. Police visited the Havana Game Shop located in the Havana Area, Dangriga Town where the body of a male person of clear complexion dressed in a camouflage jacket and shorts was observed. The body was seen lying face down in a pool of blood, apparently dead.

Upon making checks on the body, the officers observed a large chop wound to the left side of the neck. The body was later identified to be that of Miguel Angel Guerrero, a 48-year-old Belizean artist of San Pedro. The body now awaits a post mortem examination and while there are no leads, police investigations continue.

According to residents of the Havana and neighboring areas, Guerrero was an easygoing person and it is hard to understand why anyone would want him dead. He would only ask for painting jobs in the area to make a living and those jobs generally cost between $10 and $20.
