Anthony Edward Crawford, a 34-year-old figure who has been before the court on numerous occasions, was back in court on Monday, February 5, 2018 and is on remand at the Belize Central Prison on another gun accusation charge. Crawford was arraigned before Magistrate Kadeen Palma for a single offense of aggravated assault with a firearm upon Hubert Velasquez.

The incident is reported to have occurred on Monday, January 29, 2018 in Belize City. According to a police report made by Velasquez, a 43-year-old resident of Iguana Street Ext., he was socializing on Antelope Street Ext. when he was approached by Crawford, someone he has known for years. According to Velasquez, Crawford stood about 15 feet from him and drew a black firearm and fired one shot in his direction. He ran and Crawford pursued him, firing 5 more shots, all of which he missed.

Police investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Crawford on Friday, February 2, 2018. In court where Crawford was unrepresented, he pleaded not guilty but due to the nature of the offense, he was denied bail and remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until April 30, 2018.
