A love triangle has landed a teenager before the court on serious charges against his ex-wife’s new boyfriend who he managed to ambush and attack. That teenager has been identified as 18-year-old Elroy Williams, a resident of the Lord’s Bank area. Williams was taken before Magistrate Michelle Trapp on Friday, February 2, 2018 where he was read two criminal and indictable offenses of attempted murder and use of deadly means of harm.

The allegation against Williams is that on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, he was involved in an altercation with Michael Jones. In a police report, Jones stated that he was at home with his common-law wife when Williams arrived at his home wanting to speak with his wife. Jones then left the house to allow the two to talk. Upon returning home, Williams and a friend, Vince Jones, were at the house. The two men left but returned later that night. After calling out for Jones, Williams hit Jones in the back of the head then thrice to the face. Jones was taken to the KHMH where he is listed in a stable condition.

Before the magistrate, Williams was asked why he should be offered bail. Although he gave several reasons, none was special enough. As a result, he was denied bail and remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until March 19, 2018.
