The Belmopan City Council continues to improve its garbage collection capabilities and this is especially now so with the acquiring of a new Garbage Compactor Truck. This new JAC Brand Garbage Compactor was purchased thanks to $150,000.00 Bz from the Belmopan Municipal Bond.

Another garbage compactor will also be obtained, and with the addition of a second Compactor Truck, the Belmopan City Council will not only be able to attend to households in the central area, but also in the periphery. Currently household garbage is collected in central Belmopan on both Mondays and Thursdays and in the surrounding areas such as Salvapan, San Martin, Maya Mopan and Las Flores only on Wednesdays.

“It is our belief that we are one City, all communities deserve the same level of service and so we are looking at the expansion of service into the periphery,” says Khalid Belisle, Mayor of Belmopan.
