Just after 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2018, Reginald Garoy, a 35-year-old taxi driver, visited the Precinct 1 police station. There, he was seen suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, one to the finger and a graze to the right side of the cheek. He was escorted to the KHMH where he remains in a stable condition.

Despite active police patrols on that and surrounding areas, investigations revealed that earlier that evening, Garoy and another person were on East Canal in his taxi near the Rocky Road Bridge when they were approached by a male person and Garoy was shot. Police investigations into this matter continue and one person is being sought.
