Hummingbird Elementary girls win National Primary Schools Volleyball championship Print E-mail

The 2017-2018 National Primary Schools Volleyball Championship came to an end on Friday 23rd February, 2018, at the Multi-Purpose Complex in Orange Walk Town.

In the girls’ championship game, Hummingbird Elementary School representing the Belize District defeated the Toledo Christian Academy representing the Toledo District by the score of 25-18 and 25-8 to capture the National Primary Schools Volleyball title.

In the consolation game or the third place game played, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic School representing the Cayo District defeated Light of the Valley Baptist School representing the Stann Creek District by the score of 25-17 and 25-21.

In the first game of the semi-final round, Toledo Christian Academy defeated Light of the Valley Baptist School by the score of 25-18 and 25-9.

In the second semi-final game, Hummingbird Elementary School won over Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic School by the score of 25-10 and 25-9.

Earlier in the morning in the first game of the championship, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic School defeated Church of Christ School representing the Corozal District by the score of 25-23 and 25-18.

In game two, Hummingbird Elementary School defeated Chan Pine Ridge Government School representing the Orange Walk District by the score of 25-6 and 25-8.

In the third game of the day, Church of Christ defeated Light of the Valley Baptist School by the score of 16-25, 25-19 and 15-5.

In game four, Toledo Christian Academy won over Chan Pine Ridge Government School by the score of 25-14 and 25-10.

In game five, Light of the Valley Baptist School won over Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic School by the score of 25-19 and 25-13.

And in the sixth and final game of the girls’ regular competition, Hummingbird Elementary School defeated Toledo Christian Academy by the score of 25-9 and 25-13.

At the end of the girls’ championship, Jayda Smith of Hummingbird Elementary School was named the MVP of the championship.
