Orel Leslie, a 29-year-old murder suspect who was granted bail on Thursday, March 1, 2018, is back behind bars. Leslie has violated the condition of his bail which places him on curfew between the hours of 9:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. ordered by Judge Denis S. Hanomansingh.

Police say that after 1:30 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018, they found Leslie at the Sit and Sip Nightclub located on Newtown Barracks. The arresting officer, PC Andre Almendarez, was on a mobile patrol along with two other officers. They visited the club where they saw Leslie. Leslie attempted to evade the police and eventually left the establishment through a back door and got into a 4-door pickup that left the area. This led to a car chase that ended up on St. Thomas St. There, PC Almendarez told Leslie of the offense he had committed and took him into custody.

Leslie appeared before Judge Hanomansingh again on Friday, March 2, 2018 where his bail was revoked as a result of him violating the conditions of it.

Orel Leslie, Tyrone Meighan, and Brandon Baptist were charged and were on remand for the November 12, 2012 murder of BDF soldier James Noralez. They were convicted in 2015 and on appeal ordered a retrial. Leslie and Meighan were granted $25,000 Supreme Court bail as recently as Thursday, March 1, 2018. Meighan remains on that bail.
