On Saturday, March 3, 2018 at about 4:00 a.m., police responded to a report on Yorke Street. Upon arrival, officers met Raymond Wayne Davis, a 49-year-old car dealer of a Belize City address. Davis was seen with an apparent gunshot wound to the forehead.

Initial investigation revealed that while Davis was inside his vehicle on Yorke Street along with a female companion, two male persons approached them and fired several shots at him which resulted in the aforementioned injuries. Davis was taken to the KHMH and is listed in a stable condition.

About 7:00 p.m. on that same day, Kearney Thompson was shot on Vernon Street in Belize City. According to Inspector Wilfredo Ferrufino, Thompson was sitting on a verandah at the William’s Apartment when the lone gunman came in the area. He heard several shots and realized that he had been hit twice. He was transported to the KHMH where he is listed in a stable condition.

Police are investigating both cases but have not yet established motives or suspects.
