Calvary Temple boys win in primary schools softball competition Print E-mail

The Belize City Primary Schools Softball competition opened on Tuesday 27th February, 2018, at Rogers Stadium in Belize City.

There are seven schools participating in the girls’ competition and eight schools in the boys’ competition.

The schools that are competing in this year’s competition are Buttonwood Bay Nazarene, Wesley Upper School, St. John’s Primary School, Queen Square Primary School, St. Luke Methodist School, Central Christian School and St. John Vianney. Meanwhile, the schools that are competing in the boys’ competition are Buttonwood Bay Nazarene, Wesley Upper School, St. John’s Primary School, Calvary Temple School, Queen Square Anglican School, St. Luke Methodist School, Salvation Army and St. Mary’s Primary School.

In the games played on Monday 5th March, 2018, in the first of two games in the boys’ category, Calvary Temple School defeated Buttonwood Bay Nazarene by the score of 12-4. The winning pitcher was Charles Jenkins and the losing pitcher was Keran Burgess.

In the second game played in the boys’ category, St. Luke Methodist School edged out Queen Square Anglican School by the score of 8-7. The winning pitcher was Tyler Belgrove and the losing pitcher was Teashaun Jones.

And in the only game played in the girls’ competition, St. Luke Methodist School defeated Queen Square Anglican School by the score of 8-4. The winning pitcher was Samryn Rancharan and the losing pitcher was Jennifer Cassanova.

On Tuesday 27th February, in the girls’ game played, Central Christian School defeated St. Luke Methodist School by the score of 9-7. The winning pitcher was Yasmin Weir and the loss was charged to Samryn Rancharan.

And in the game played in the boys’ category, Salvation Army School blasted St. Luke Methodist School by the score of 13-1. The winning pitcher was Terrence St. Clair and the losing pitcher was Tyler Belgrave.

The competition will continue on Thursday 8th March, 2018, with two more games on the schedule. In the first game at 1:15 pm in the girls’ competition, Central Christian School will go up against Queen Square Anglican School and in the boys’ competition, Salvation Army School will see action against Queen Square Anglican School.

On Friday 9th March, at 9:00 am in the first girls’ game of the day, St. Luke Methodist School will go up against St. John Vianney. In the first game of the boys’ competition, St. Luke Methodist School will do battle with St. Mary’s Primary School and this will be followed by the second girls’ game of the day, Wesley Upper School will go up against St. John’s Primary School and in the final game of the day in the boys’ competition Wesley Upper will see action against St. John’s Primary School.
