Police visited San Jose Palmar Village in Orange Walk on Monday, March 12, 2018 just before 9:00 a.m. Upon making their way into some bushes, they observed the body of a Hispanic male hanging from the branch of a tree. The body was hanging from a nylon strap which was tied around the neck. The body was already in a state of decomposition. It was identified as that of Angel Cisneros.

Initial investigation revealed that Angel Gabriel Cisneros, a 15-year-old Salvadoran national and a shop attendant, was reported missing since he left from his sister’s house to an unknown destination. He left around 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 and had not been seen or heard from since. What is understood is that he was having some problems and was being disciplined and, as a result, he decided to leave home. The report of him being missing was made on March 10, two days prior to him being found.

An onsite post mortem examination was conducted on the body and certified the cause of death to be mechanical asphyxiation consistent with hanging. While no foul play is yet suspected, police investigation continues.
