At the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan, the league’s leading Belmopan Bandits SC blanked the home team Police United FC by the score of 2-0 to maintain its lead in the competition.

The 1st goal of the game for the Belmopan Bandits SC was scored by Jerome James in the 38th minute of play to give his team a 1-0 lead.

The lead was later increased when Rony Sanchez scored his team’s 2nd goal of the game in the 67th minute of play for the 2-0 victory.

Out at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio Town, the defending champions Verdes FC halted its slippage when it edged out the Belize Defence Force FC by the score of 2-1.

The Belize Defence Force FC was the first to make it onto the scoreboard when Jaren Lambey scored his team’s only goal of the game in the 5th minute of play to give it a 1-0 lead. However, the lead was short-lived when Alcides Thomas scored the equalising goal in the 28th minute of play for Verdes FC.

Alcides Thomas scored his 2nd and final goal of the game in the 85th minute of play to give Verdes FC a much needed win and back onto the winning column.

At the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town, San Pedro Pirates defeated the Placencia Assassins FC by the score of 3-0.

The goals for the San Pedro Pirates were scored by Jesse Smith in the 46th minute of play, Carlos Pertuz in the 57th minute of play and Highking Roberts in the 78th minute of play.

And in the final game of the day played at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga Town, Wagiya FC won its first game of the season when it upended the Freedom Fighters by the score of 3-2.

The goals for Wagiya were scored by Warren Moss in the 45th minute of play and Janard Castillo in the 66th and 70th minute of play. Meanwhile, the goals for the Freedom Fighters were scored by Alexander Peters in the 19th and 41st minutes respectively.

The competition will continue this coming weekend with four more games on the schedule.
