Jadine Riley wins 29th Annual Women’s Cross Country Cycling Classic Print E-mail

The Cycling Federation of Belize sponsored its 29th Annual Women’s Cross Country Cycling Classic on Sunday 25th March, 2018.

The 73 miles event started out in San Ignacio Town where it travelled the full length of the George Price Highway, then into Belize City for the finish at the BTL on the Newtown Barracks. This year’s event attracted some 13 riders the most field in any given female race in the country.

At the end of 3:49:43 it was American Jadine Riley who rides for MD Endurance that was the first rider to cross the finish line to lay claims to this year’s Women’s Cross Country Title. The second rider to cross the finish line was Kaya Cattouse of C-Ray Cycling Team in a time of 3:52:47 and she was followed by last year’s champion Alicia Thompson who rides for the Belize Bank Swoosh in a time of 3:57:41, she was followed by Hannah Thompson of Amy D. Foundation who completed the event in a time of 3:57:41 and she was followed by Gina Kavesh of MD Endurance and she was followed by Lori Harkey of Moose Pharmacy to round of the top six finishers in the event.

The other finishers in the event which were out of the time limit included Kaylynn Gillett of the Belize Bank Swoosh in a time of 4:29:34 and she was followed by Taralee Ordonez of Kulture Megabytes and then by Gabrielle Lovell who is unattached and she was followed by Miguelina Lopez of Yucatan and she was followed by Kelly Clarke of the Amy D. Foundation and then by Paulita Chavarria of Chavarria Cycling Team.

In the Junior/ Youth Category, the first rider to cross the finish line was Kaylynn Gillett and she was followed by Taralee Ordonez and then by Paulita Chavarria.
