Belize Rural Central Basketball competition opens Print E-mail

The 2018 Belize Rural Central Basketball competition which is being sponsored by the Area Representative the Hon. Beverly Williams commenced on Friday 16th March.  There are 12 teams competing in the competition which is divided into two divisions.

The teams that competing are: Division 1 – Hard Rock, Lord’s Bank Warriors, Ladyville Heatz, Lord’s Bank Eagles, Street Kings and New Release. Meanwhile, the teams in Division 2 are: Boom, Airport Terror Squad, Gorilla Cutz, Mayan Man Warriors, DigiNet Assassins and B-Wood.

On Friday 23rd March, in the first game played, Lord’s Bank Eagles defeated Ladyville Heatz by the score of 55-49.

The top scorers for the Lord’s Bank Eagles were Luwani Cayetano with 17 points and Robert Jefferies with 12 points.

Meanwhile, the top scorers for the Ladyville Heatz were Aaron Johnson with 14 points and Patrick Canelo with 13 points.

In the second game of the evening, Gorilla Cutz won over DigiNet Assassins handily by the score of 103-49.

The top scorers for the Gorilla Cutz were Russell Humes with 19 points and Marlon Andrewin with 16 points.

For the DigiNet Assassins, the top scorers were Kadeem Olivera with 13 points and Alex Gordon with 10 points.

The competition the continued on Saturday 24th March, with two more games on the schedule. In the first game played, B-Wood defeated Airport Terror Squad by the score of 55-49.

The top scorers for the B-Wood were Justin Wade with 13 points and Dave Apolonio with 11 points.

The top scorers for the Airport Terror Squad were Albert Longsworth with 16 points and Jacob Westby with 14 points.

In game two, Hard Rock defeated Street King by the score of 80-51.

The top scorers for Hard Rock were Kevin Hamilton with 20 points and Jason Vasquez with 19 points, while the top scorers for the Street King were Joshua Bradley with 22 points and Kareem Ferguson with 9 points.

On Saturday 17th March, in the first game played, Mayan Man Warriors won over the Airport Terror Squad by the score of 83-59.

The top scorers for the Mayan Man Warriors were Sheldon Williams with 21 points and Russel Staine with 16 points.

For the Airport Terror Squad, the top scorers were Jacob Westby with 22 points and James Morris with 16 points.

In the final game of the evening, Lord’s Bank Warriors won over Street Kings by the score of 66-60.

The top scorers for the Lord’s Bank Warriors were Mark Hilton with 20 points and Raheem Baptist with 15 points. For the Street Kings, the top scorers were Kareem Ferguson with 19 points and Nicholson Neal with 12 points.

And on Friday 16th March, in the first game of the competition, New Release edged out Hard Rock by the score of 61-59.

The top scorers for New Release were Felix Martinez with 19 points and Jason Vasquez with 14 points, while the top scorers for Hard Rock were Kevin Hamilton with 15 points and Jay Palacios with 11 points.

In game two, B-Wood defeated Boom by the score of 86-65.

The top scorers for B-Wood were Gerald Gillett with 24 points, and Fenton Ross and Lyndon Swift with 12 points each.

Meanwhile, the top scorers for Boom were Isani Pook with 12 points and Austin Bernard with 11 points.

The competition will continue on Friday 6th April with two more games on the schedule. In the first game, it will be New Release going up against Lord’s Bank Eagles and in the night-cap it will be Boom against Gorilla Cutz
