Hon. Edmond Castro, Minister of Transport and NEMO as well as the area representative for Belize Rural North, is happy to share the news that the villagers of Boston Village will be receiving water services. This is being done through the collaborative efforts of the Social Investment Fund (SIF), Belize Water Services (BWS), and the Government of Belize through the minister.

The three entities met and worked out an arrangement for the people of the Old Northern Highway at Boston Village to receive potable water. Consultations with the residents of Boston will begin on Saturday, April 15 starting at 2:00 p.m. Implementation of the project will follow these consultations.

Boston is one of the last 3 remaining communities to receive water under this administration. The minister expressed that “When this UDP Government and Area Rep took office in 2008, only 5 out of the 27 villages in Belize Rural North had potable water. We’ve come a long way, indeed!”
