The Pepsi Elite Basketball League competition resumed after the Easter break last weekend with three games on the schedule.

On Saturday 7th April, at the Sacred Heart College Auditorium in San Ignacio Town, the visiting Dangriga Dream Ballers eliminated the host team Verdes from any playoffs hope by the score of ho scored 21 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals70-68.

The top scorers for the Dangriga Dream Ballers were Edgar Mitchell with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal; Daniel Conorquie with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals and Tahj Wells with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 1 steal and Devis Guzman who also scored 10 points to go along with his 9 rebounds. For the Verdes team, the top scorers were Isaiah Thomas with 27 points, 8 rebounds and a steal and Darnell Oden who scored 13 points and 8 rebounds.

With the win over Verdes, the Dangriga Dream Ballers has now grabbed the top spot in the on-going competition.

On Friday 6th April, at the University Gymnasium in Belmopan, the Digicell Belize City Defenders defeated the Belmopan Bandits by the score of 94-90.

The top scorers for the Digicell Belize City Defenders were Nigel Jones with 33 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals; Francis Arana with 12 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal and Jacob Leslie with 10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. For the Belmopan Bandits, the top scorers were Luther Da Shane Page with 23 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals; Leon Jacobs with 21 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals and Stephen Williams and Jevaughn McKenzie who scored 10 points each.

While at the Belize Elementary School Auditorium in Belize City, Smart Belize Hurricanes defeated the Orange Walk Running Rebels by the score of 105-56.

The top scorers for the Smart Belize Hurricanes were Akeem Trapp with 11 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal; Kyle Young who also scored 11 points to go along with 2 rebounds, and Ervin Orosco who also scored 11 points, 1 rebound and a steal.

For the Orange Walk Running Rebels, the top scorers were Elvis Olivera with 12 points and 8 rebounds, and Lennox Bowman who scored 11 points to go along with his 4 rebounds and a steal.

At the end of the last week of play, the Dangriga Dream Ballers, San Pedro Tiger Sharks, Smart Belize Hurricanes and the Digicell Belize City Defenders have all qualified for the playoffs round.

The competition will continue this coming weekend with three more games on the schedule. On Friday 13th April, at 9:00 pm out at the St. Catherine Academy Mercy Centre Verdes will go up against the Digicell Belize City Defenders out at the Orange Walk Multi-Purpose Sports Complex also at 9:00 pm Belmopan Bandits will go up against the San Pedro Tiger Sharks and on Saturday 14th April at 9:00 pm at the San Pedro High School Auditorium the Dangriga Dream Ballers will see actions against the San Pedro Tiger Sharks.
