Energy Workers Union (BEWU) held its annual general meeting AGM yesterday, May 1, 2018, and elected a new executive team to serve for 2018 – 2021.

Elected were :

President- Garry Yearwood; Vice President- Mark Gladden; General Secretary- Mark Bowman; Asst Secretary- Janine Samuels; Treasurer- Oscar Gongora; Trustee- Vanessa Bowman; and Trustee- Emerson Castillo.

During recent times the BEWU has been the most progressive union, when it comes to workers’ issues. It recently signed a new lucrative CBA for it BTL membership. Unlike its sister unions such as the BNTU, the BEWU, does not allow itself to be used as a political pawn. The BEWU is all about workers representation. Congratulations goes out to the newly elected Executive. We wish them success and hope that they will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors.
