The number of persons accused of a home invasion in late 2015 has decreased drastically. Initially, 19 persons were charged in connection with the home invasion of Sarkis Bounehra, a Diplomat, where his watchman’s wife was raped and his home was burglarized. Since the date of the incident to present, a number of persons saw charges of aggravated burglary and handling stolen goods withdrawn against them.

On Wednesday, May 2, 2018, only 4 men still had charges against them. Those men included known criminal figure, Tyrone Meighan; brothers, John and Sheldon Grinage; and Brandon Baptist. A fifth man, Lane Grinage, cousin to the Grinage brothers, was once charged in relation to the home invasion but has since seen those charges withdrawn from against him. Despite those charges being withdrawn, he remains behind bars on another charge.

Paul Jex Jr., who is now out on Supreme Court bail, is another person charged in relation to the home invasion as he was charged with raping the watchman’s wife. His rape case has since been committed to stand trial at the Supreme Court and he is waiting that court date.

The next court date for Meighan, Baptist, and the Grinage brothers were set for June 19, 2018. A trial date has not yet been set. As it relates to the charge of handling stolen goods, Crystal Augustine never saw the charge withdrawn against her since she absconded shortly after she was granted Supreme Court bail in the sum of $8,000.
