The 2018 Pepsi national Elite Basketball League regular season competition continued over the weekend with a single game on the schedule and on Monday 1st May, also with a single game.

On Monday 1st May, at the Belize Civic Centre, the Smart Belize Hurricanes picked up its second win in as many outings when it defeated the Digicell Belize City Defenders by the score of 80-60 to secure the second seed into the playoffs.

The top scorers for the Smart Belize Hurricanes were Glency Lopez with 30 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists; Brian White with 15 points, 11 rebounds, an assist and a steal and Akeem Watter who contributed 8 points to go along with his 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals.

For the Digicell Belize city Defenders, the top scorers were Nigel Jones with 21 points, 12 rebounds and an assist and Darwin Leslie with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists all in a losing effort.

On Friday 27th April, at the Russell ‘Chiste’ Garcia Auditorium in Dangriga Town, the Smart Belize Hurricanes defeated the Griga Dream Ballers by the score of 73-61.

The top scorers for the Smart Belize Hurricanes were Tyson Reynold with 16 points,  7 rebounds, 1 assist and a steal; Akeem Watters with 14 points, 2 rebounds and an assist and Brian White who contributed13 points to go along with his 12 rebounds and a steal.

Meanwhile, the top scorers for the Griga Dream Ballers were Edgar Mitchell with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and a steal and Tahj Wells who contributed 14 points, 9 rebounds, an assist and a steal.

The regular season will come to an end on Thursday 3rd May, at the University of Belize Gymnasium in Belmopan when the Belmopan Bandits will entertain the Verdes team at 8:00 pm.

The semi-finals will commence on Friday 4th May at 9:00 pm at the Belize Civic Centre when the Smart Belize Hurricanes will entertain the Griga Dream Ballers.

The second semi-final game will be played on Saturday 5th May at the San Pedro High School Auditorium at 9:00 pm between the top seed the San Pedro Tiger Sharks and the Digicell Belize City Defenders.
