PM Barrow announced on Wednesday that the first year of the re-registration exercise will cost government some 8 million dollars to finance. Already the Chief Elections Officer and the Elections and Elections and Boundaries Commission have met with political parties to share the operational aspects of how the exercise will proceed. In the early months of re-registration, additional classrooms will be opened in order to accommodate the original mass number of people coming in to register.

According to the Prime Minister the first list will be available by October of 2018. It is expected that by April of 2019 the list will be robust enough in order to have a valid referendum on the ICJ matter with Guatemala.
