An interdicted police officer was charged for a traffic offense in which he is being accused of colliding into another vehicle at the entrance of the Los Lagos Community. After weeks of investigation and the victim’s recovery, police have since levied three traffic offenses against 32-year-old Sacario Cus, a police officer already on interdiction for a criminal offense.

Cus appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Kadeen Palmer where he was read three traffic offenses of negligent harm, failure to report an accident, and driving without due care and attention. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and since there was no objection to bail, he was offered bail in the sum of $1,500 plus one surety of the same.

The allegations being made against Cus are that on March 25, 2018, he was involved in a traffic accident in which one person was injured and he failed to report the accident to police. Police say that Cus was the driver of a vehicle which collided into another vehicle which was being driven by Johnny Marroquin. At the time of the accident, Marroquin was in the company of Danny Zul, who was injured during the accident. Zul sustained an injury to his right foot.
