The 2017-2018 Belize City Primary Schools Football competition opened on Monday 14th May, 2018, at the MCC Grounds.

The schools competing in this year’s girls’ competition are Queen Square Anglican, Holy Redeemer, St. John Vianney, Salvation Army, Wesley Upper, Belize Elementary, St. Luke Methodist, St. John’s Primary and St. Ignatius. The girls are divided into two divisions.

Meanwhile, the schools that are competing in the boys’ competition are: Queen Square Anglican, Holy Redeemer, St. John Vianney, Salvation Army, St. Ignatius, Ephesus SDA, St. Martin De Porres, Wesley Upper, Bethel Primary, Belize Elementary, Muslim Community, and St. John’s Primary, Unity Presbyterian, All Saints Anglican, St. Luke Methodist, St. Mary’s Primary, James Garbutt SDA and Ebenezer Methodist. The schools in the boys’ competition are divided into four groups.

On Monday in the first of two games played in the girls’ competition, Queen Square Anglican and Salvation Army School played to a 1-1 draw.

The goal scorer for Queen Square Anglican School was Fantasia Tasher and the goal scorer for Salvation Army School was Tiffany Nuñez.

In the second girls’ game, St. Ignatius School blanked Belize Elementary School by the score of 1-0.

The only goal of the game was scored by Vashtie Stephen.

In the first game played in the boys’ competition, Queen Square Anglican School defeated Salvation Army School by the score of 1-0.

The goal for Queen Square Anglican School was scored by Keedenshay Bowen.

And in the second and final game in the boys’ competition for the day, St. Martin De Porres School defeated Bethel Primary School by the score of 4-0.

The goals for St. Martin De Porres were scored by Delhart Dominguez (2) and Kevaughn Tablada (2).

The competition continued on Tuesday 15th May, with three more games on the schedule. In the only game played in the girls’ competition, Holy Redeemer School and its sister school St. John Vianney School played to a 0-0 draw.

In the first of two games in the boys’ competition, Ebenezer Methodist School defeated its sister school St. Luke Methodist by the score of 2-0.

The goals for Ebenezer Methodist School were Jaylen Whyte and Hector Reyes.

And in the final game of the day, St. John Vianney School blanked Holy Redeemer School by the score of 1-0.

The only goal of the game was scored by Adran Hernandes.
