Kyne Gentle, a 28 year-old Esperanza resident went on a night with friends, which ended tragically in San Ignacio. Someone ruthlessly executed him on the compound of the night club he was partying at.

Sometime after 1:00 p.m on Monday May 21, Gentle was on the steps of the Blue Angels night club, which is located on Hudson Street.  He had reportedly just arrived with his friends who were celebrating the birthday of one  of the companions in the group. He reportedly purchased a plate of food, and he was standing on the steps of the nightclub, waiting for those he was socializing with. Unfortunately, that was when a man with a black cap approached him, and aimed a sawed off shot gun at him and shot him in the abdomen. When he collapsed to the ground, the gunman allegedly stood over him and shot him once more in the head. After that, the assailant managed to escape from the scene of the crime. This entire time, his cousin was nearby, and she was helpless to do anything about the execution of Gentle by this unknown gunman.

Not much is known about Gentle’s background, but police say that he is known to them. However, at this time, investigators are now looking at various angles and reviewing footage taken by several surrounding security cameras.

Kyne Gentle was an avid player on the cycling, horse-racing and canoeing scene.

A note from the Protected Areas Conservation Trust states as follows: “We are saddened by news of the untimely death of Kyne Gentle. Kyne was a member of the 2018 Team PACT which competed in the Ruta Maya Challenge in March this year. We will remember Kyne for the energy, enthusiasm, and overall positive vibes he brought to the times we shared with him.

The PACT family expresses our sincerest condolences to Kyne’s family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.”
