Police in the Cayo District continue to engage our youths in productive activities. On Friday, Police cadets from the San Ignacio Police formation took part in cleaning the highway between Red Creek and Esperanza Village.

Corporal Jason Jones from the Community Program within the Police Department would like to thank Village Chairman Mr. John Trapp and Cayo Cargo for their assistance. He would also like to thank the parents and other persons who assisted with the clean-up.

While the cadets from San Ignacio Police have done their part in keeping the environment clean, another grouping, the Calla Creek Village Council is gearing up for a river clean-up. Their campaign will start from Clarissa Falls to the Hammock Bridge this Sunday, May 27, 2018.

If you would like to help the Calla Creek Village Council and assist the cleaning of a critically important watershed, please, send your donations to the ‘Calla Creek Village Council’ with the Account number 123349010120001 at the Belize Bank.

These recent activities from the Police Cadets and a planned event from the Calla Creek Village Council are ones that we should all applaud. Both are keeping our surroundings clean and more welcoming to visitors from both at home and abroad.
