Thieves made off with almost a million dollars from the Benque Free Zone. She reported that the establishments had been burglarized and stolen therefrom was $406,505.00 in U.S. currency.

Police investigations have revealed that the establishment was entered between the hours of 1:50 and 2:50 am on Sunday. Surveillance footage shows that three burglars gained access to the compound from an opening on the western side of the building. A fourth man stood watch outside of the building. Once inside the compound they torched two metal doors and gained access to the building and went directly to where the money was kept.

While the entire incident was recorded on surveillance video, the men wore masks and had on long sleeve shirts so even their complexion is unknown.

The compound is secured by two night guards, who claimed not to have seen or heard anything as they were near the gas station when the burglary took place. Police detained one employee for questioning as it is believed that the robbers may have had inside information.

With the quantity of U.S. currency that was taken, the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) has been called in to assist with this investigation.
