The Belize Electricity Limited is always a public advocate of safety especially as it relates to electricity and power lines. As such, the company hosted its 4th annual Safety and Health Open Day fair on Friday, September 28, 2018 where several partners set up interactive displays to educate on safety.

The Belize Audubon Society, the Belize Fire Department, the Road Safety Unit, the Department of the Environment, and the Kidney Association of Belize were all present to distribute information materials to the hazards and dangers of unsafe practices surrounding electricity to the public and visiting schools.

Raul Villanueva, Superintendent of Safety, Health, and Environment at the Belize Electricity Limited, explained that, “We are trying to inform the public the hazards of our product, electricity, so that they can protect themselves, to identify those hazards and make sure that we B.E.L are aware of them so that we can eliminate them before someone gets injured.”
