The United Democratic Party’s Convention season continued on Sunday November 18 in Orange Walk Central. Once again polls opened at nine and even before that time voters had lined up in the respective stations to cast their votes at the Sports Complex in Orange Walk.

After eight hours of polling a total of 1,905 voters had cast their votes. Of those 12 were rejected, Yvette Liu-Torres secured 433 votes, Evan Williams: 476 and the winner, Denny Grijalva-Cruz secured 984 votes.

Immediately after the count the winner was declared and he took the oath of office. Addressing the gathering, both Torres and Williams thanked their supporters and expressed their support now for the new standard bearer. For his part, Grijalva who embraced the other candidates, said the work will now continue for a victory for the UDP in 2020.
