Two persons have been shot seemingly due to feuding groups from Phases #1 and #2 in Belama. William Lewis, 18, and Raheem Staine, 23, were shot on Friday, May 17, 2019 just hours after the North Creek shooting in Belize City. Lewis and Staine were socializing just after 10:00 p.m. in Belama Phase two, when an unknown gunman came from out of the bushes and approached them. They were chased and eventually shot before being rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Lewis and Staine have both been treated and released.

Assistant Superintendent Alejandro Cowo says that police understand that one of the men who were along with them might have been the intended target. Two persons were detained and police investigations continue.
