In accordance with Part VIII section 24 (1) of the BELIZE CITY COUNCIL ACT CHAPTER 85 REVISED EDITION 2000, “All streets, in which term is included public drains and bridges within the boundaries of Belize City, shall be under the control, care and management of the Council.” However, after we saw some pictures of the bush growing on the sidewalk and pavement of the newly constructed Fabers Road, we are now trying to figure if this ONEDROP City Council either does not know it is their responsibility to maintain the city’s infrastructure, or they can’t do the job or maybe they have converted the sidewalk and street into a huge planter for planting grass.

We know that they like to pass the buck, by playing the blame game and saying it is the previous council to blame for what is happening, but this is one time they cannot play that game. This is no UDP Grass, because the newly constructed piece of infrastructure was handed over to them about 6 to 7 months ago and there was no grass there. This is PUP GRASS that is growing on the cemented street and side walk. We made a few checks with residents of the immediate area to inquire when was the last time they saw city council employees in the area, and we were told that the only city council employees they see are those city employees who live in the Fabers Road Community and as such they traverse the area. One elderly gentleman asked us if there is there is still a thing named BELIZE CITY COUNCIL. After only 15 months Belize City residents are already ready to vote these ONEDROP CROWD out.
