In 2014 The Inspiration Center opened its doors to assist children with diverse abilities with therapy and other mechanisms to help them cope with their various challenges. Since the inception, the Taiwanese Government has stood along with the institution helping along with the construction and now with the everyday running of the institution.

Last week, the Taiwanese Ambassador, Remus Chen handed over much needed cash contribution to the facility. Speaking at the handing over ceremony, First Lady, Kim Barrow explained that the assistance is very much appreciated. She added that while the Government of Belize does assist with some contributions it is not nearly enough to cover the expenses at the center. She says that finding the finances to keep the center open is one of the things that keeps her up at night, “It’s a perpetual worry to keep the center open,” she said. Barrow noted that it is harder and harder to seek out funding for the operations but she will continue to do so as long as she is able to.

H.E. Ambassador Chen explained that he was all too happy to share in the goal of not having any child left behind. He said that he admires and respects the work of the organization and wants to be partners in the endeavor to give assistance to children with special needs.
