Curtis FlowersCrooked Tree resident, 40 year old Curtis Flowers, a farmer of Crooked Tree village was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday July 5thon a charge of damage to property for breaking a varnished door and a center table valued at $400 and being the property of Elizabeth Gomez.

The incident occurred on May 25th of this year but police just detained Flowers on thecharge and he was arraigned in Court #4 before Magistrate Roberto Ordonez.  Flowers pleaded not guilty to the charge and was offered bail in the sum of $2,500.Before he was taken back to the holding cell, Flowers told the Magistrate that he was beaten by police and that one of them hit him in the head with an object.Flowers was observed with a bloody shirt and injuries to his face. His case was adjourned for a later date in August this year when he will reappear in Court #4 on the charge.
