Elisa ChanOn Friday July 15th 24-year-old Elisa Chan appeared in Magistrate’s Court to answer to charges of drug trafficking. The charges arose on May 29th 2010 when she was accused of attempting to smuggle marijuana into the Belize Central Prison. Reports are that she tried to smuggle 80 grams of weed stuffed in some fried jacks.

When those fried jacks were presented to court as evidence they did not match the description of the exhibit that was before the court and as a result the charge was not proven and Chan was set free.
Chan had recently gotten off a charge of attempted murder as the woman she was accused of trying to kill chose not to testify against her in the Supreme Court.
