Hon. Consul General of India Mr. Arun Hotchandani presents certificate to participant.The Tech Awards 2011 were held recently at the SAI Info-Tech, King Street, Belize City. Successful students were joined by their parents and friends. The certificates were presented by the Mayor Zenaida Moya, Honorary Consul General of India Mr. Arun Hotchandani, Councilor Wayne Usher and Councilor Roger Espejo. The Director of SAI Info-Tech Dr. KiranVanjani welcomed the Guests of Honour, all students, parents and guests. She thanked the Belize City Council for sponsoring five children for attending the computer classes during summer. She said that the Summer Computer Camp 2011 was very successful and students of different age groups, starting from four years old and up had learnt various computer courses. The computer course offered for 4-8 years old is E-Kids and for the age group 9-16 the courses offered were - E-Junior Level-1, E-Junior Level-2, Adventures in Comic Creation and Photoshop for kids. Besides these, certificates were given for other courses like Introduction to Web Designing, Introduction to Photoshop. SAI Info-Tech had also offered corporate trainings to KHMHA and Summa Research Agency. Certificates were given to the participants from corporate trainings as well.

The Mayor congratulated the students and also emphasized the importance of the knowledge of computers for students. Hon. Consul General of India Mr. Arun Hotchandani applauded this effort of providing computer trainings. He announced a scholarship for eleven young children from South side of Belize City who want to learn computers but can’t afford to do these courses. This will help in reducing crime in the South side of Belize City. He asked the Belize City Council to select the eleven students for this scholarship. This scholarship will be given every year to the needy students.
